BLM Invites Public Comments on OHV Grant Application

The U. S. Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Arcata Field Office invites public comments on its proposed preliminary grant application to the state of California’s Off Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Grants and Cooperative Agreements program.

The field office’s initial proposal requests $21,356 for law enforcement and $43,150 for ground operations. Funds would be used in fiscal year 2013, which begins this October.

A public meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m., at the BLM  Arcata Field Office, 1695 Heindon Rd., Arcata.  Participants will be asked to share ideas and concerns, and recommend specific projects and funding levels that could be included in the preliminary grant request.

Following the public meeting, the preliminary grant application will be finalized and then posted online at the BLM Arcata field office website, and  on the OHMVR Division website, beginning March 6.
