Media Advisory: Wildland Firefighter Task Force Prepares to Deploy

WHO: Task Force made up of: Bureau of Land Management Folsom Lake Veterans’ crew and crew from Hawaii (both 20 member Type 2), Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District engine crew, BLM bulldozer and water tender crews from Hollister.

WHAT: Media availability to interview firefighters and equipment operators being deployed to fight wildland fires in California. The Folsom Lake crew is made up of military veterans and has been fighting fires since being trained in July.

WHEN: August 16, 2 p.m.

WHERE: McClellan Wildland Fire Training Center, 3237 Peacekeeper Way.

BACKGROUND:  A task force has been assembled made up of resources from BLM, Sacramento Metro and Hawaii. The task force will be deployed to fight fire in Northern California.
