The U. S. Bureau of Land Management is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for damages and the theft of government-owned equipment and vehicles from a locked storage yard at the agency office on Heindon Road in Arcata. Officials said the break-in occurred over the weekend of Aug. 24. A BLM Yamaha Rhino all-terrain vehicle and trailer were stolen along with various power tools. The trailer has a US Government license plate with the number LI423348. Also stolen were two Toyota pickup trucks (California license plates 6JYK204 and 5V83905) owned by BLM employees, one of whom was deployed to a fire fighting assignment outside of the area. Anyone with information should contact the Arcata Police Department, (707) 822-2428, or the BLM Arcata Field Office, (707) 825-2300. |
