Alabama Hills Community Spirit Day Planned |

The Alabama Hills Film Festival and the Bureau of Land Management’s Bishop Field Office will sponsor a cleanup of the Alabama Hills on Saturday, Sept. 24. The event will prepare the area for the Lone Pine Film Festival on Oct. 8 - 10. This event coincides with National Public Lands Day. Participants should meet at 8 a.m. at the Lone Pine McDonalds for a volunteer orientation breakfast courtesy of McDonalds or at Movie Road and Whitney Portal Road at 9 a.m. Please bring gloves, hat and sunscreen. BLM will provide tools and trash bags. Refreshments will be provided. National Public Lands Day is the largest annual coast-to-coast, single-day volunteer restoration effort for America's public lands. The purpose of this event is to improve the recreational facilities, preserve the biological and heritage resources, and foster public involvement in the stewardship of public lands. |
