Bureau of Land Management Postpones Prescribed Burn in the Condon Peak Area The Bureau of Land Management’s Hollister Field Office has postponed a prescribed burn planned this fall in northern Fresno County until next year. Approximately 200 -250 acres were to be burned in the Condon Peak area. “After additional review, we decided to postpone the controlled burn until next year to allow for more site preparation. This will allow us to burn more safely and more effectively carry out the objectives,” said Mike Chiodini, BLM Hollister battalion chief. Prescribed burning is done in accordance with the National Fire Plan to protect life and property, reduce fuel loadings and improve wildlife habitat |
