BLM's Ukiah Field Office Invites Public Comments on OHV Grant Application

The Bureau of Land Management’s Ukiah Field Office is inviting public comments on its draft grant application to the state of California’s Off-Highway Motorized Vehicle Recreation Division.

The field office is requesting approximately $250,000 to be used for trail maintenance, law enforcement and operations and maintenance of off-highway vehicle areas.  Funds would be used during the 2012 calendar year starting in early January.

A public open house to discuss the OHV grants will be held at the Ukiah Field Office, 2550 North State St., Ukiah, on March 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Comments must be submitted by April 4 to the OHMVR Division at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov to be included with the grant request.

The OHMVR grants and cooperative agreements program supports well-managed off-highway vehicle recreation in California by providing financial assistance to cities, counties, districts, federal agencies (including BLM), state agencies, educational institutions, federally recognized Native American Tribes and nonprofit entities.
