BLM Seeking Volunteers for Cache In-Trash Out Cleanup Day on the Sacramento River Rail-Trail April 30 |

The Bureau of Land Management’s Redding Field Office and the Redding GeoCachers club are looking for volunteers to help clean up an old dump site next to the FB Trail segment of the Sacramento River Rail Trail, in a project set for Saturday, April 30.This is what geocachers call a CITO – “Cache In Trash Out” project. Crews will be removing remnants of the Humingbird Mine and associated debris piles in the event planned in conjunction with the annual observance of Earth Day. Participants will meet at Enterprise Park at noon and then travel to the work site. The meeting area will be marked with signs. Volunteers should bring gloves, water bottles, and safety glasses, and wear long pants and sturdy shoes. BLM and the Geocachers will supply snacks, extra water and tools.
