BLM Announces King Range National Conservation Area Lecture Series

The Bureau of Land Management’s King Range Project Office will sponsor a series of Tuesday lectures from Dec. 14 through March 29. Lectures will be:

• Dec. 14 – “Beyond the Clouds: Astronomy,” Healy Senior Center. 456 Briceland Road, Redway; David Kornreich, Ph.D.
• Jan. 11 – “Through the Lens: Examining Phytoplankton," (hands-on activity), BLM King Range Project Office, 768 Shelter Cove Road, Whitethorn; Moss and Rachel Sowards Thompson.
• Jan. 18 – “Exploring Geologic Processes along the Lost Coast," (hands-on activity), Healy Senior Center; Sam Flanagan.
• Feb. 8 – “The Loneliest Lighthouses,” BLM King Range office; Dave Johnson.
• Feb. 15 – “Beavers, Coho and Climate,” BLM King Range office; Tasha McKee.
• March 1 – “Cooperative Fire Management," (hands-on activity), BLM King Range office; Tim Jones.
• March 15 – “Fish of the Lost Coast,” Healy Senior Center; Dave Fuller.
• March 29 – “King Range Birds of Prey," (hands-on activity), BLM King Range office; Jesse Irwin.
