Nominations Requested for Carrizo Plain National Monument Advisory Committee

The Bureau of Land Management is requesting nominations for the Carrizo Plain National Monument Advisory Committee.

The nine-member committee advises the Secretary and the Bureau of Land Management on resource management issues at the monument, which sits on the border between San Luis Obispo and Kern counties.  The BLM will consider the nominations for 45 days from today, when the formal call for nominations was published in the Federal Register.

The following must accompany all nominations: support letters from represented interests or organizations, a completed background information nomination form and any other information that demonstrates the nominee's qualifications.

Individuals may nominate themselves or others to the committee.  Nominees, who should demonstrate a commitment to collaborative resource decision-making, must be California residents.  The BLM will evaluate nominees based on their education, training, experience and knowledge of the geographical area of the advisory committee.

Committee members were appointed to staggered terms last year to allow a transition to full three-year terms.
Nominations are requested for the following council positions: public-at-large (two positions), San Luis Obispo County government.
