Cow Mountain Rifle Range Closed July 15 for Trash Cleanup

The Bureau of Land Management’s Ukiah Field Office will close the Cow Mountain rifle range on July 15 for trash cleanup. 

CAL FIRE work crews will help with the cleanup.

“Garbage will be removed along the main North Cow Mountain road just before the rifle range turnoff, so visitors should drive carefully.  The road may be temporarily blocked at times for equipment and crews to remove large items,” said Jeff Tunnell, BLM fire mitigation and education specialist. Signs will be posted warning of the approaching work area.

“We are asking visitors to always take away trash they bring to public lands,” Tunnell said. “If you pack it in, pack it out.”
