BLM Redding Field Office to Thin Trees in Trinity County Campgrounds |

|
A project to thin diseased and insect-infested trees from timber stands in two Trinity County campgrounds will get underway this month. The Bureau of Land Management Redding Field Office said work will be performed in the Steel Bridge and Junction City campgrounds along the Trinity River. No public inconvenience is expected, as the campgrounds are closed for the winter. “Several trees have died in these campgrounds over the last year, and the best way to reduce further tree mortality is to remove the diseased trees,” said BLM Redding Field Manager Steve Anderson. The week-long project will begin when weather permits and should be completed by the end of March. Residents and visitors to the area should be alert for increased log truck traffic near both campgrounds. For additional information, contact the Redding Field Office, (530) 224-2100. |
