BLM Announces Final Public Meetings for Desert Discovery Center Parkland Development

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Desert Discovery Center (DDC) partners are holding the fourth and fifth of five public meetings to discuss proposed outdoor classroom and park developments. Plans are to expand programs outside on adjacent eight acres with a goal to create a new community parkland and educational facility.

Community members and business owners are encouraged to participate in this grass roots planning meeting.  Help is needed to identify recreation features, review site location and access, and provide design ideas for parkland beautification.

The meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3rd and 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17th  at the Desert Discovery Center located at 831 Barstow Road.

An informal meet and greet with light refreshments will kick off the meetings followed with a presentation by Brad Mastin from the BLM Barstow Field Office. Open discussion and public input will follow the presentation.
