|
The community of Lone Pine and the Bureau of Land Management’s Bishop Field Office will hold a short public meeting on January 28 regarding management of the Alabama Hills. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Beverly and Jim Rogers Museum of Lone Pine Film History. The meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled due to weather. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss stewardship actions completed to date and to discuss future actions proposed for the management of the hills, said Chris Langley, Inyo County Film Commissioner. In November of 2006, the BLM Central California Resource Advisory Council met in Lone Pine and expressed its support for the BLM to build upon the grass roots effort of local leaders to frame a community strategy to maintain the character of the Alabama Hills. For more information, please contact Chris Langley at (760) 937-1189 or Jim Jennings of the BLM at (760) 872- 5027. |
