Chalfant Public Land Stewardship and BLM Plan Public Lands Cleanup

The Chalfant Public Land Stewardship and the Bureau of Land Management’s Bishop Field Office are asking for volunteers to help clean up of public lands east of Chalfant Valley on Saturday, March 20.

“We will be picking up trash illegally dumped on the public lands on the east side of the community. All persons interested in public lands health are encouraged to participate in this community project,” said Kyle Goin, chair for the stewardship group.

The group will meet at 9 a.m. at the Chalfant General Store. Please bring gloves, sturdy shoes, water and sunscreen or a hat. A light lunch will be provided at noon.

“The BLM supports the grass roots effort of local leaders and citizens to maintain the character of our public lands,” said Rich Williams, outdoor recreation planner in BLM’s Bishop Field Office.

For more information, contact Goin at (760) 873-6170 or Williams at (760) 872- 5033.
