Astronomy Topic of First in King Range Winter Lecture Series |

Astronomer and physics professor Dr. David Kornreich will present “Beyond the Clouds: Astronomy,” Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Healy Senior Center, 456 Briceland Rd., in Redway. The free lecture is the first in the Bureau of Land Management’s King Range Winter Lecture Series. To reserve space, call Rachel Sowards Thompson at (707) 986-5414 or email Rachel_Sowards@blm.gov. Dr. Kornreich received his undergraduate degree from Caltech in 1995 and his doctorate from Cornell University in 2000. He is currently a professor of astronomy and physics at Humboldt State University. He continues at teach astronomy at Cornell during summers, and spends time as a staff astronomer at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico. The observatory is home to the world’s largest single dish radio telescope. |
