BLM Plans Pile Burning at Hunter Mountain

The Bureau of Land Management’s Mother Lode Field Office will burn brush piles in the Hunter Mountain fuel break in Mariposa County the week of April 12.

Piles will be burned in a 70-acre area near the Williams Peak lookout off Bear Valley Road. The pile burning is being done to help maintain the fuel break. AmeriCorps crew members helped BLM with the project, said Brian Mulhollen, BLM fuels management specialist.
