BLM Crews Plan to Burn Slash Piles in Swasey Recreation Area

Crews from the Bureau of Land Management plan to burn piles of brush and limbs in the Swasey Recreation Area in west Redding on Wednesday, Nov. 18.  Smoke from the project may be visible from parts of west Redding.

The slash piles were created in projects to remove hazardous fuel loading and reduce wildfire danger.
 
Burning will occur only on permissive air quality days, and when weather conditions allow for safe and successful burning.
