BLM Invites Public Comments on Ridgecrest Field Office OHV Grant Application

The Bureau of Land Management’s Ridgecrest Field Office invites public comments on its draft grant application to the state of California’s Off Highway Motorized Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division.
 
The field office is requesting approximately $2,548,000 to be used for planning, development, trail maintenance, law enforcement, restoration projects, and education.  Funds would be used in fiscal year 2010, which begins in October 2009.
 
Comments should be sent to Bureau of Land Management, 300 Richmond Rd., Ridgecrest, CA, 93555,  Attention: OHV grants.  Comments must be received by Monday, April 6th to be included with the grant request to the OHMVR Division.  Late comments will be forwarded to the division separately.
 
Anyone interested can review the grant application, along with those from other BLM field offices, online at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov. The BLM’s California field offices annually request OHVMR funds to help operate OHV areas and provide riding opportunities on BLM-managed public lands throughout the state.
