News ReleaseFor Release: March 25, 2009 BLM's Bakersfield Resource Management Plan Revision Socioeconomic Workshops AnnouncedThe Bureau of Land Management's Bakersfield Field Office will host two public workshops in April for local community leaders who want to explore the issue of the changing local economy and its relationship to public lands. Issues for discussion include, but are not limited to: 1) The socioeconomic profile of local counties based on the Economic Profile System; 2) The current role of public lands in the local economy, including market and non-market values; 3) Visions for the future of the local communities and the role of public lands in this vision.
