BLM Invites Public Comments on Ukiah Field Office OHV Grant Application

The Bureau of Land Management's Ukiah Field Office invites public comments on its draft grant application to the state of California’s Off Highway Motorized Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division.
 
The field office is requesting approximately $566,000 to be used for trail maintenance, law enforcement, planning projects and operations and maintenance of off-highway vehicle areas.  Funds would be used in fiscal year 2010, which begins October 1, 2009.
 
Comments should be sent to Bureau of Land Management, 2550 North State St., Ukiah, Calif. 95482 Attention: OHV grants.  Comments must be received by March 31 to be included with the grant request to the OHMVR Division.  Late comments will be forwarded to the division separately.

A public meeting to discuss the OHV grants is scheduled for March 26 at 7 p.m. at the BLM Ukiah Field Office.

The BLM’s California field offices annually request OHVMR funds to help operate OHV areas and provide riding opportunities on BLM-managed public lands throughout the state.  Information on the grant program is available at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov.
