BLM Postpones June 23, 2009 Oil and Gas Lease Auction in Sacramento

Citing the need for more extensive consultation with land owners, tribal leaders, and other community interests, the Bureau of Land Management has postponed its quarterly competitive oil and gas lease auction scheduled for June 23, 2009, at the Federal Building on Cottage Way in Sacramento.

A public notice of competitive lease sale was issued on May 8, 2009.  Twenty-one parcels in Monterey County containing 35,287.06 acres of federal land were being offered for lease.  Parcels from the postponed sale will be reconsidered for leasing at a future time.
