Alabama Hills Stewardship Group Field Trip

The Alabama Hills Stewardship Group and the Bureau of Land Management Bishop Field Office is conducting a field trip of the Alabama Hills on Saturday, February 7th.   Interested parties are to meet at the corner of Whitney Portal Road and Movie Road at 9 a.m.  From there you will car pool to various locations.

The purpose of the field trip is to discuss the proposed stewardship actions to be completed this year in the hills, said Chris Langley, Inyo County Film Commissioner.

In November 2006, the BLM Central California Resource Advisory Council met in Lone Pine and expressed its support for the BLM to build upon the grass roots effort of local leaders to frame a community strategy to maintain the character of the Alabama Hills.
