News ReleaseFor Release: January 22, 2009 BLM's Bakersfield office plans travel management workshopsThe Bureau of Land Management's Bakersfield Field Office will host two public workshops in February to discuss travel management for the BLM's Bakersfield Resource Management Plan. The workshops will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the following locations: Lake Isabella - February 25, Lake Isabella Moose Lodge, 6732 Lake Isabella Blvd. Taft - February 26, Taft Union High School, 701 7th St. "We're asking the public to comment on the route inventory, to ensure it is an accurate representation of all routes on the ground within the planning area." said Peter DeWitt, BLM recreation planner. "Comments on specific routes are encouraged and identification of anything missing is vital to getting a complete inventory for the route designation process." Route inventory maps will be available for the public to review at the meetings. After a short presentation about the travel management process, the public will be given time to study these maps and provide written comments. BLM staff will be on hand to help interpret the maps. BLM also will accept written comments by mail to allow interested parties more time to look over the inventory maps. All written comments on the route inventory will need to be received by March 13 to be incorporated into the comment database. -30- Bakersfield Field Office, 3801 Pegusus Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93308 |
