BLM Announces Vacancy on Northeast California Advisory Council
The U. S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is accepting nominations for a vacant seat on its Northeast California Resource Advisory Council (RAC).
The seat is for an elected official from state, county or local government for a term ending in September 2010. It was previously held by Modoc County Supervisor Mike Dunn, who left office in January.
Nominations should be sent to Bureau of Land Management, 2950 Riverside Dr., Susanville, CA 96130, attention: RAC nominations. They must be received by Friday, March 20.

The 15-member RAC works closely with BLM managers in Alturas, Cedarville and Susanville, advising on the full range of the agency’s natural resource management responsibilities on nearly three million acres of public lands in northeast California and far northwest Nevada.
Members represent diverse public land interests including livestock grazing permit holders, environmental groups, the timber industry, recreation, wild horse and burro interests, history and archaeology interests, tribal concerns and the public at large.
Meetings are usually held quarterly in the Alturas, Cedarville and Susanville areas.
The council is one of 24 such groups advising the BLM in the Western states.
