News ReleaseFor Release: November 3, 2008 Public Meeting Announced to Discuss Round Mountain PlanThe Round Mountain Planning Group will hold a public meeting on Nov. 11 to discuss the implementation of the Round Mountain/Rock Creek Management Plan. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Diamond Arrow Conference Center north of Nevada City at the intersection of North Bloomfield Road and Rock Creek Road. The group was formed by the local community to provide a forum to discuss development and implementation of the plan with the Bureau of Land Management. The outcome of the meeting is to provide feedback to help BLM prioritize projects in the plan to better serve the community. The goals of the plan include reducing the wildfire hazard, maintaining open space, developing a mature forest, managing outdoor recreation and protecting resources. Public lands along the South Yuba River are not covered by this plan.
