South Cow Mountain OHV Area to be Reserved for Enduro Event
The Bureau of Land Management will temporarily close the South Cow Mountain Off-Highway Vehicle Area to general recreation use and through traffic from Friday, April 18 until Sunday, April 20, to provide public safety during the North Bay Motorcycle Club's Sawmill and Family Enduro motorcycle events.
North Bay Motorcycle Club has been granted an exclusive use permit to use the trails around the perimeter of the OHV area for this event.
"We are expecting as many as 400 riders for these events," said BLM Park Ranger Larry Ames. "We have to be as certain as we can be that no one accidentally gets onto the race course, for the safety of the participants and visitors to the area. The area will be reopened to the public on Sunday afternoon, as soon as the last participant is off the course."
