BLM Offering Wild Horse Volunteer Training Session

Northern Sacramento Valley residents interested in learning about volunteer opportunities in the Bureau of Land Management’s Wild Horse and Burro Program can attend a training course Saturday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the BLM’s Redding Field Office, 355 Hemsted Dr.

The focus of the session is to train volunteer compliance inspectors.  It will be led by BLM wild horse and burro specialists from the Ukiah and Susanville offices. There is no fee.

Compliance inspectors assist the BLM by visiting wild horse and burro adopters to ensure that adopted animals are being well cared for.  They also provide adopters with information about mentors who can assist with animal training and health care needs.

For more information, contact Videll Retterath at (530) 254-6575 or Pardee Bardwell at (707) 468-4055.
