Alabama Hills Stewardship Public Meeting Set

The community of Lone Pine and the Bureau of Land Management’s Bishop Field Office are holding a public meeting on November 20, regarding management of the Alabama Hills. The meeting is from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Room 3 at the Lone Pine High School.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss upcoming stewardship actions for the Alabama Hills, said Chris Langley, Inyo County Film Commission director.

In November of last year, the BLM Central California Resource Advisory Council met in Lone Pine and expressed its support for the BLM to build upon the grass roots effort of local leaders to frame a community strategy to maintain the character of the Alabama Hills.
