BLM, Lassen Rural Bus Set Summer Trail Shuttle Schedule

The Bureau of Land Management and Lassen Rural Bus will continue their summer tradition of providing low cost bus shuttles for bicyclists, hikers and joggers who use the Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail.
The monthly shuttles will transport trail users and their bikes from the Susanville Railroad Depot on Richmond Road in Susanville to stops at Devil’s Corral, Fredonyer Summit, Westwood and Mason Station.  These stops provide options for 7, 18, 30 and 25-mile return trips to Susanville using the trail (and in the Fredonyer Summit stop, connecting Lassen National Forest Roads).
Saturday shuttles will run on June 2, July 7 and Sept. 1, with 8:30 a.m. departures from the Susanville Depot.  Sunday shuttles are set for Sept. 30, following the Rails to Trails Festival.  Departures are at 8:30 and 11 a.m.
The finale, and most popular shuttle of the year is Saturday, Oct. 20 – the Fall Colors Ride. Buses leave at 8:30 and 11 a.m.
For reservations, call the Susanville Railroad Depot, (530) 257-4323.
For all shuttles, riders should meet at least 30 minutes prior to departure to allow time for registration and bike loading.
Organizers strongly encourage bike riders to wear helmets, dress for changing conditions and to carry plenty of water.  Participants should be prepared to handle mechanical breakdowns and first aid situations, as “ride sweeps” are not provided.
