BLM Releases Cosumnes River Preserve Draft Herbicide Use Analysis
An environmental analysis (EA) on continued herbicide use at Cosumnes River Preserve is now available for public comment through January 11, 2008.
“Approval of the EA will provide the implementing partners with direction and guidance for the continued use of herbicides to control invasive weeds on approximately 14,756 acres of preserve lands for the next three years,” said Mark Ackerman, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) wildlife biologist for the Cosumnes River Preserve.
The primary issue addressed in the EA is control of non-native invasive weeds on preserve-owned lands.
