BLM Fire Crews Will Begin Debris Pile Burning

Fire crews from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will be burning debris piles during the coming weeks in various areas of Shasta, Butte, Trinity, Tehama and Siskiyou counties.
 
The piles of brush and limbs were created during construction of shaded fuel breaks and timber sale activities.
 
BLM Fuels Specialist Kristi Ralston said pile burning is planned for areas near west Redding, near Magalia in Butte County, at the Hog Lake Plateau in Tehama County, at Slatery Gulch in Trinity County and near Oro Fino in Siskiyou County.
 
Burn piles will be ignited only when weather conditions allow for safe and successful burning.
