BLM Announces Sale of Rock and Sand from Imperial County Parcels
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is offering for sale by competitive bidding, up to 2,000,000 tons of construction aggregate from four sites on public land in Imperial County, California. The sale will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2007. A contract will be awarded to the highest bidder for each site. Some of the sites will allow crushing and processing operations. This is the first aggregate sale for BLM in California since 2001.
The highest bidder will be required to complete all necessary environmental studies and obtain all necessary permits before the contract will become effective. Bidders must be authorized to transact business in California and Arizona.

Aggregate is the base material for making concrete and asphalt needed to build homes, roads, offices and warehouses in ever-growing Southern California.
