News ReleaseFor Immediate Release: August 27, 2007 Contact: Jim Jennings (760) 872-5027 CA-CC- 07-65 Alabama Hills Stewardship Public Meeting SetThe community of Lone Pine and the Bureau of Land Management’s Bishop Field Office will hold a public meeting Sept. 5, regarding management of the Alabama Hills. The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Lone Pine Piute – Shoshone Community Center, 975 Teya Road. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss upcoming stewardship actions for the Alabama Hills, said Chris Langley, Inyo County Film Commission Director. In November, the BLM Central California Resource Advisory Council met in Lone Pine and expressed its support for the BLM to build upon the grass roots effort of local leaders to frame a community strategy to maintain the character of the Alabama Hills.
