BLM Needs Volunteers to Lead Hikes at Cache Creek, Coastal Bluffs

Hikers who want to share their knowledge and love of the outdoors have the opportunity to lead hikes on public lands in the Cache Creek Natural Area in Lake and Colusa counties and the Stornetta Public Lands on the Mendocino Coast.
 
The Bureau of Land Management needs volunteers to lead outings at various times of the year.
 
“We especially need volunteers who are familiar with wildflowers, birds and wildlife,” said Rich Burns, manager of the BLM’s Ukiah Field Office.
 
The BLM will provide training in basic interpretive techniques and orient volunteers to the hiking areas.  Volunteers will be responsible for subject matter expertise and scheduling hikes.  The BLM will publicize the outings.
