News Release For Release: August 3, 2006 Iron Mountain Shooting Ranges Closed During Power Line Work Target shooting ranges along Iron Mountain Road west of Redding will be closed on weekdays from Monday, Aug, 7 through Friday, Sept. 15, while utility crews complete a power line relocation project. The Bureau of Land Management's Redding Field Office said the range closures will be in effect Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. The ranges will remain open all day on Saturdays and Sundays. "It is critical that shooters heed the closure for the safety of the crew members working on the power lines," said Sky Zaffarano, a BLM outdoor recreation planner. Zaffarano also reminded shooters that fire restrictions are now in effect on public lands. These restrictions prohibit use of steel jacketed, tracer or incendiary ammunition. More information is available at the BLM Redding Field Office, (530) 224-2100. -BLM- Redding Field Office 355 Hemsted Dr., Redding, CA 96002
