SCA members start work with BLM Ridgecrest Field Office
The BLM California Desert District’s Ridgecrest Field Office welcomes 28 Student Conservation Association (SCA) members who will make up four crews, each consisting of six members and a crew leader. One crew will be assigned to work in the Randsburg area, another in the Jawbone area, and two will work in designated wilderness. The SCA crews will restore areas that have been denuded by illegal OHV activity by initiating biological processes, defining legal routes, and protecting wildlife habits. Along with restoration efforts, on holiday weekends the crews will assist BLM in public outreach and education.
