San Jose Wild Horse and Burro AdoptionEight horses and three burros, including a palomino trained by a young equestrian, were adopted at the Bureau of Land Management's Wild Horse and Burro adoption April 21 and 22 in San Jose. In addition to the wild horses and burros, the adoption included four horses that were halter gentled by girls' teams from Taylor Made Farms, Sonrisa Stables, in San Martin. Three teams of girls ages 8 to 17 competed against their riding instructor, Karen Topping, in showing their horses. The three bay yearling geldings not adopted will be offered at an adoption May 19 and 20 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa. Teams from Sonrisa Stables have halter gentled horses for adoption in previous adoptions at San Jose.
