Woychowski chosen 2011 BLM El Centro Ranger of the Year
The winner of the 2011 El Centro “Ranger of the Year” award is Ranger John Woychowski. The El Centro Field Office Ranger of the Year Award is given to a Law Enforcement Ranger ”for exemplary protection of our public lands and unwavering dedication to visitor safety." (text continues below)
Not to be taken lightly, the recipient is chosen and honored by his/her coworkers within the El Centro Field Office. John has displayed his dedication to the BLM Law Enforcement Program and the BLM Law Enforcement Field Training Program, by taking the initiative to do what it takes to accomplish the mission and goals of the BLM. His dedication to the BLM Law Enforcement Field Training Program has insured that the BLM will be provided with newly skilled and knowledgeable Law Enforcement Rangers for years to come.
“It is an honor to give him this award. John is a phenomenal ranger.” said Margaret Goodro, El Centro Field Manager.
The Ranger of the Year Award was developed in 2010 to recognize and support the El Centro Field Office Law Enforcement Rangers. The award was presented during the 2011 Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation (ISDRA) Thanksgiving Event. Over 150 of his peers were present to show their appreciation for Ranger Woychowski’s dedication.
The El Centro Field Office is one of the busiest field offices, with four National Events each year. Last year over one million visitors recreated at the ISDRA.
