Livermore wild horse and burro adoption eventTen horses and six burros were adopted at the Bureau of Land Management’s wild horse and burro adoption April 25-26 in Livermore. The adoption was held in conjunction with the California State Horseman’s Spring Stampede. (text continues below) BLM volunteer Dave Miller talks to a young adoption attendee about his mustang. Thad Waltman of Susanville demonstrated techniques useful for animals adopted from the BLM, or for horses already in the corrals at home. Volunteers are working with four horses not adopted at Livermore as halter projects for the adoption at Napa Mustang Days May 16. The event will be held at the Napa Valley Horsemen's Association on Foster Road. The Horsemen are celebrating their 70th Anniversary, and Mustang Days is their official celebration and Community Open House. Napa Mustang Day's website is www.napamustangdays.com.
