 BLM-California's Doran wins rangeland management award

Karen Doran of BLM-California’s Bakersfield Field Office has received a Rangeland Management Specialist Recognition Award.  The award was presented during the Society for Range Management 62nd Annual Meeting and Trade Show in Albuquerque, NM on Feb. 8. (text continues below)

Nominations were received from 10 states, for individuals either deserving of recognition for exemplary service or deserving of an outstanding professional development opportunity.
Attendees also heard from a roster of speakers, covering topics relating to BLM operations as well as the growing importance of the BLM-SRM relationship. Another highlight was the premier viewing of the new release “Hope on the Range” a DVD produced in cooperation by the SRM and BLM. The DVD is intended to better educate the public about the benefits of livestock grazing on public rangelands.
