Judith Sackett says she likes to learn new things. She certainly came to the right place. After concentrating on the business world for most of her life, Judith came to BLM in 2008 to work with the public and be outdoors watching nature in open areas. Judith is the outreach and support technician and usually the initial point of contact for visitors to the Carrizo Plain National Monument.
She has a bachelor's degree in business administration and has worked as an electronics buyer, material control manager, co-owner of her own business for 15 years, and has been a tutor and substitute teacher. She was looking to re-enter the workforce and wanted to be involved with the bigger picture of land management and wildlife stewardship so, she looked toward the BLM to help fulfill her desire to learn and develop in this new direction.
"BLM offers excellent training plans and opportunities," she says.
A widow with a teenage son, Judith lives in Bakersfield.
