Employee Profile

Christine (Chrissie) Foley

Labor Relations Specialist
California State Office

Chrissie Foley, a native Californian from Garden Grove, home of the Crystal Cathedral and actor/writer Steve Martin, is new to BLM but not to human resources.  She helps management navigate the master labor agreement and facilitates the agency's relationship with the employee union.

Before joining BLM in February 2010, Chrissie was working as a Human Resources Advisor for a private aerospace company based out of the United Kingdom, with their US headquarters in Norwalk, CA.  Chrissie's first job in human resources was working for The City of Garden Grove.  But, her dedication to public service began as a senior in high school working as an intern for the local state assemblyman, before joining the assemblyman's staff as community liaison.

An accomplished scholar, Chrissie was a "President's Scholar," at California State University, Long Beach, graduating in 2007 with a degree in communication studies.  At 16, she studied in Aachen, Germany for a year as part of the Congress-Bundestag youth exchange program.  A congressionally funded program for motivated high school students who want to live with a host family and attend a German high school.

She may be new to civil service, but spent eight years in military service with the Army Reserve.  She was deployeed from August 2004 to December 2005 with the 387th Personnel Battalion in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where she spent time in Iraq, Kuwait and Qatar.  Sgt. Foley also served with the 393rd Military Police Battalion (Criminal Investigation Division) before leaving the service to pursue her college degree.

Chrissie is a newlywed, marrying husband Aaron in November of 2009.  They live in Roseville with a mischievious puppy named Pookie, a cross of a silk terrier and a miniture poodle.  Chrissie describes the dog as a four pound ball of black fur, looking a bit like an Ewok from the Star Wars movies.
