Two New Live Webcams Are Available for the Ukiah Field Office

There are now two live webcams available for public viewing covering two different areas of the Ukiah Field Office.

The first is the Westside Staging Area at the west entrance to the South Cow Mountain OHV Area.  The Staging Area is open for day use only, however the OHV area is open 24 hours a day.  This camera shows the entrance gate and parking area.  This camera provides another way to check the status of the OHV area during the winter months and also to see how busy the parking area is.

The second is for the Stornetta Public Lands which is located north of the town of Point Arena.  The area offers opportunities for hiking, bird watching, tidepooling, picnicking and photography.  Due to the sensitive nature of California's coastal resources, collection of all natural, cultural, historic or archaeological resources is strictly prohibited.  Take nothing but photographs.

BLM's Ukiah Field Office OHVMR Grant Information

The Bureau of Land Management's Ukiah Field Office is inviting public comments on its draft grant application to the state of California's Off-Highway Motorized Vehicle Recreation Division.  The field office is requesting funds to be used for trail maintenance, law enforcement and operations and maintenance of off-highway vehicle areas.  Funds would be used for calendar year 2014.

The grant application, along with those from other BLM field offices, will be available online March 5 at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov .  Information on the application is available from Richard Burns, BLM Ukiah Field Office Manager at (707) 468-4000, or by email at rburns@blm.gov .

Comments must be submitted by April 1 to the OHMVR Division at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov  to be included with the grant request.

The OHVMR grants and cooperative agreements program supports well-managed off-highway vehicle recreation in California by providing financial assistance to cities, counties, districts, federal agencies (including BLM), state agencies, educational institutions, federally recognized Native American Tribes and nonprofit entities.  Information on the grant program is available at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov .
