When can I visit?
Currently the BLM is offering public visitation opportunities seven days a week. Please keep in mind that gather activities can change quickly. This webpage will be updated as needed.
For the latest observation information call the local High Rock Complex information hotline at 530-279-2816. For general information on the Wild Horse and Burro program, call 866-468-7826.
What are the procedures?
The BLM is committed to providing as much public access as possible, however, the Herd Management Areas are rugged and remote and public safety is our first priority. BLM staff will be available each day to escort the public into observation areas. A high-clearance 4WD drive vehicle is required to access the trap site. Those wishing to participate must meet at the BLM Surprise Field Office, 602 Cressler St., Cedarville, California. For meeting times each day, call the High Rock Complex information hotline at 530-279-2816, updated daily.
Details on the gather are provided in the fact sheet.
For those who plan to visit, please read the Know Before you Go! sheet for more information.
