Please Respect Private Land and Special Closures

There are many roads and trails throughout Chappie-Shasta OHV area that cross private land. These roads and trails are subject to be closed at the private land owner's discretion.  Logging and mining activities are regularly occurring on these private lands.  Use proper precautions when using these roads and trails, always watch for oncoming traffic and heavy equipment working.  If you would like to keep the privilege of using these trails, respect gate closures and no trespassing signs.  It is your privilege, not your right, to use these trails.  You are responsible for acquiring permission to use private roads and trails, which are not depicted on this map.

Occasionally sections of roads or trails must be closed temporarily to minimize impacts to wildlife and prevent rutting and soil erosion.  Extreme fire conditions may also restrict OHV access. Improper use of your off-highway vehicle can damage fragile resources and leaves a bad impression with other recreation users.  Preserve your riding privilege by always operating your vehicle responsibly and obeying closures.
