Shasta Campground
at
Chappie-Shasta OHV Area

 

For visitors seeking overnight camping facilities, the Shasta Campground provides 22 camp units with sites for tents and recreational vehicles. Hookups are not available and campsites are available on a first come, first serve basis. The campground has picnic tables, fire rings, trash collection, and potable water. There is a daily campsite fee.
Shasta Campground is located on the western side of Shasta Dam in the immediate vicinity of the main Chappie-Shasta OHV Staging area. This campground is located on Forest Service land and is maintained and administered by the Shasta Trinity National Recreation Area.

Directions to the Chappie-Shasta OHV Staging Area and Shasta Campground
From Redding, take Interstate 5 north about 10 miles to the Shasta Dam exit. Follow Shasta Dam Boulevard 2 miles; turn right on Lake Boulevard to Shasta Dam. A permit is required to cross Shasta Dam at this time (see PERMITS AND REGULATIONS). After crossing Shasta Dam, turn left and travel 2 miles to the facilities.
