Camping Campgrounds and other public lands open for camping are available for visitors to stay for not more that 14 days during any calendar year. This can be 14 consecutive days or through a number of separate visits. There are three developed campsites available within the BLM Redding Resource area. All three campgrounds are in Trinity county - Douglas City, Junction City, and Steel Bridge campgrounds. Two primitive camping areas are available at Steiner Flat (Trinity River) and Stateline(Klamath River). There are many group camping areas, within the Redding Resource Area, available via permit such as Reading Island. To reserve the Reading Island group camping area fill out the Reading Island application. Call the Redding Field Office for more information. Take a look at the map of the Trinity River area showing the location of many of these facilities. There are detailed descriptions of each site below. Douglas City CampgroundThis area offers tent/trailer camping, a day use area with river and beach access. Junction City CampgroundThis area offers tent/trailer camping with easy access from Highway 299. Location: 1 1/2 miles west of Junction City on State Highway 299. Steel Bridge CampgroundThis site offers tent/trailer camping, a day-use area, and access to the Trinity River. Location: About three miles east of Douglas City on State Highway 299, then two miles north on Steel Bridge Road. Steiner Flat Camping AreaThis area offers primitive tent camping and access to the Trinity River. Location: Public lands along the Trinity River on Steiner Flat Road, past Douglas City campground. Stateline on the Klamath RiverThis area offers primitive camping, a primitive river access ramp, and picnic area. Elevation: 2,900 feet. Facilities: Primitiveboat ramp, picnic tables, and vault toilets . Vegetation: Oak, grassland, pines. Stay Limit: 14 days per calendar year. Use Season: Year-round Use Fee: There is no use fee for this area |
