Butte Creek Bridge Replacement

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration, Central Federal Lands Division (FHWA-CFLHD) is replacing the existing substandard Butte Creek Bridge, improving the West Branch Feather River Bridge and completing improvements to Doe Mill Road from Garland Road to the BLM property boundary approximately 1 mile north of Skyway Road.

Construction activities will begin on Doe Mill Road (also known as Ponderosa Way) on Monday August 11, 2014. The Doe Mill Road work will include adding gravel, replacing culverts and re-grading drainage swales. Starting on August 11th, temporary closures will be in place on Doe Mill Road during the following times:

· 8:00 am to noon, and 1:00pm to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
· The road will be open to traffic on weekends and on weekdays before 8:00 am, from  noon to 1:00pm, and after 5:00 pm
· The temporary closures are anticipated to last through October 2014

The Butte Creek Bridge off of Doe Mill Road will be closed from late-August to December 2014. During this time Doe Mill Road will also be closed for approximately 200 feet on either side of the bridge. The Butte Creek Bridge is being replaced to meet current design standards and to accommodate firefighting equipment. Highway 32 and Skyway will remain open and provide access to the east and west side of the Butte Creek Bridge off of Doe Mill Road.

The West Branch Feather River (WBFR) Bridge on Jordan Hill Road, approximately 2 miles northeast of Skyway Road, will be closed from mid-August to December 2014. The construction work will include the replacement of the existing bridge decking and railing.
