From Arizona take AZ. Hwy 95 S. from Lake Havasu City, to Parker Dam Rd. Drive over the dam, and the first right hand turn possible is Metropolitan Water District Rd. Take a right on MWD Rd toward Black Meadow Landing. Drive 6.2 miles to a private road on the left hand side going towards Havasu Palms. From this point on the road is not maintained 4 wheel drive may be needed. (DRIVE WITH CAUTION) This is Private Road HN36F. Take this road for 2.0 miles, there should be a fork in the road. The Right fork goes to Havasu Palms and slot canyon of lower Whipple Wash, the left fork goes up the hill on MWD Rd. Take the fork to the left. Follow this road for 6.5 miles. There should be a power line tower on the right with a small road leading to it. The tower is number 50-G-1. (If you are at tower number 50-G-2, you should continue down the road to the next tower) Park here and walk back (in the direction you just came from) about 100 yards on the road. You will see a pile of rocks marking the trail. You will hike around the first mountain before you can see Cupcake. The hike takes about 2-2.5 hours one way, this depends on your condition. The hike is mostly up hill and is very strenuous with the last ½ mile being loose and steep. Take plenty of water!

From California take Hwy 62 east from Vidal Junction on US 95 to Parker Dam Rd, turning left on the MWD Right of Way and then follow the directions as stated above.
