Tumey Hills Landscape (BLM photo)

The Panoche and Tumey Hills are now under Fire Season Vehicle Restrictions. No motorized access is allowed from April 15 to the beginning of upland game bird season.

The Tumey Hills do not have designated trails; however, exploring this area on horseback is allowed.  For maps and more information about this area you can call us at (831) 630-5000 for an area brochure.

Feel free to email our Outdoor Recreation Planners for more information about places to safely ride.

To keep these lands wild and safe:
Park within 15 feet of the roadside
Stay on open, signed routes while driving
Routes are not considered open unless they are signed open
Bring plenty of water for your party, stock, and pets
